Dr. Erwin Montgomery, specializing in movement disorders, joined faculty in April

The Department of Neurology was excited to have Dr. Montgomery join the faculty on April 1, 2009 as Professor and Dr. Sigmund Rosen Scholar in Neurology in the Division of Movement Disorders. Dr. Montgomery has been the recipient of numerous grants and awards including the Roger Duvoisin Fellowship from the American Parkinson Disease Association and the Roland Mackay Award from the American Academy of Neurology, as well as being elected to the American Neurological Association. He completed his residency in neurology and fellowships in movement disorders and neurophysiology from Washington University. At UAB, he serves as the Dr. Sigmund Rosen Scholar in Neurology.

 

In addition to basic laboratory research in basal ganglia physiology and pathophysiology, Dr. Montgomery’s medical interests include Parkinson’s disease, deep brain stimulation, dystonia, tremors, and other movement disorders.
