Neurology Service at Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC)

 

 

The Neurology Service at the Birmingham VAMC sees over 4,000 patients annually in outpatient and inpatient settings.

 

Special Services Offered

• Muscle/Nerve Biopsy and Interpretation (Drs. Oh and Lu)
• Tarsal Tunnel Studies (Dr. Oh)
• Botox Injections (Dr. Oh)
• EEG Monitoring (Drs. Ver Hoef and Faught)

 

Inpatient Services

• General Neurology
• Epilepsy Monitoring
• Consultation
• Interventional Neurology (in collaboration with Dr. Aqel in Cardiology)
• Intraoperative Monitoring

 

Outpatient Clinics

• General Neurology (Thursday afternoon and Friday morning - attendings rotate)
• Urgent Care (Monday & Wednesday afternoons)
• Botox Clinic (4th Friday of the month at UAB - Dr. Oh)
• Post-stroke Followup Care (starting in July 2006, Dr. King)
