Mission & Demographics
The mission of the Multiple Sclerosis Center is to:
- Foster clinical and fundamental research on multiple sclerosis (MS) and related diseases
- Provide clinical and research training in MS and related diseases
- Evaluate and treat acute and chronic MS and related diseases
The primary goal of the Center is to become nationally and internationally recognized as the leading center for clinical care and referrals in the Southeast. Its plan is to develop and expand its basic science research -- including cutting edge neuropathology and neuroimmunology research -- and to develop an outstanding MS neuroimaging program.
