The Joint Health Science departmental programs, which encompass an integrative curriculum with the School of Medicine and Graduate School, are dedicated to the education of scientists in all of the disciplines of biomedical investigation for careers in teaching and/or research and the education of health professional students in the fundamental biomedical sciences as a foundation for their clinical careers. Necessary to this educational mission is the provision of an excellent research environment that will promote and enhance biomedical discovery and knowledge.
