The education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows is a central component of the mission of the Department of Anesthesiology. We offer medical student rotations for both 3rd and 4th year UAB medical students, with rotations available for 4th year medical students from outside institutions as well. The anesthesiology residency program provides excellent clinical and academic training. Our anesthesiology resident graduates are highly successful in achieving board certification and developing rewarding careers in both the academic and private settings. Accredited fellowships are offered in Critical Care Medicine, Pain Management, and Cardiac Anesthesiology.
