Faculty within the Anesthesia Services Division provide anesthesia in more than 70 anesthetizing sites on a daily basis. The anesthetizing sites including operating and procedure room locations within the Birmingham Veterans Administration Medical Center, Callahan Eye Foundation Hospital, The Kirklin Clinic, University Hospital, and UAB Highlands Hospital. The UAB Department of Anesthesiology is the exclusive anesthesia provider in each of these locations.
The Anesthesia Services Division includes the following sections:

- Liver transplant
- Neurosurgical
- Vascular
- Obstetric
- Otolaryngology
All of the clinical faculty members at the level of Assistant Professor and above are certified as Diplomates of the American Board of Anesthesiology. The anesthesia care team approach is utilized in the majority of the intra-operative anesthesia care provided by the Division through the use of anesthesiology residents or certified registered nurse anesthetists.
