The Protective Life Clinical Initiative awards (PLCI) were established in 2000 to encourage the development of innovative, interdisciplinary clinical initiatives within the School of Medicine and the UAB Health System. The long-term result of the creation of the PLCI awards will be better-integrated clinical care, which will ultimately benefit all Alabama citizens who depend on UAB to meet their healthcare needs.
